Dr. Orban’s therapeutic style is active, goal-oriented and solution focused.
Dr. Orban works collaboratively with clients to help them move forward from their problems to solutions. She is an expert in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a scientifically validated, efficient therapeutic approach. CBT identifies problematic thinking patterns and behaviours, and helps the client to implement alternative ways of coping. She also draws from another widely validated approach called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on clients’ unique values, and aims to help them live a richer, more meaningful life. Dr. Orban also implements strategies from other therapeutic models to best suit her client.
Dr. Orban works in a partnership with her clients to address many challenging issues, including: depression • anxiety disorders • anger • relationship difficulties • stress management • low self-worth • bipolar disorder • borderline personality disorder • health and medical issues • body image issues • phobias • trauma • sexual identity issues • gender identity issues, amongst others.
